04 / FARMHOUSE

RR Farmhouse

Ongoing · 465 m²

APPAKUDAL, INDIA

A home that opens
to the landscape.

Low pavilions and expressive roof forms frame a sequence of gardens, shaded edges and open views. Deep overhangs, white walls and dark timber tones give the farmhouse a quiet, grounded character.

The arrival court, water feature and planted thresholds extend the experience of the home beyond its rooms.

Vinod Residence

Architecture + interiors

SHIVAMOGGA, INDIA

Layered outside.
Open within.

A composed street elevation brings together textured surfaces, timber screens and a generous roof. Inside, tall living spaces open towards planted edges, bringing daylight and greenery into everyday life.

Views between the living room, dining area and garden create continuity through the home. Warm timber and a restrained material palette link its interior and exterior spaces.

03 / AUSTRALIAN PRACTICE

Experience that
travels with purpose.

Five projects developed in India. A foundation in design, documentation and coordination that I can bring to an Australian studio.

My contribution starts with resolving spaces, communicating design intent and coordinating buildable information. In Australia, I would apply those skills within the studio’s standards, consultant team and project review process.

The comparisons below identify transferable experience and the local checks needed for Australian work. They do not claim Australian compliance for these Indian projects.

Project experience → transferable skills → Australian application
Project evidenceSkills I bringAustralian application & local checks
01 / RESIDENTIALHouse of Light ↗

Courtyard, skylights, shading screens and coordinated construction drawings.

Skills I bring

Climate-responsive design

Develop daylight and shading strategies; coordinate openings, sections and material interfaces.

Australian application & local checks

Adapt the envelope to the local climate and applicable NCC energy-efficiency and condensation provisions, with the energy assessor and consultants. Review livable housing requirements where adopted.

02 / WORKPLACEKSSFCL ↗

Workplace design, tender drawings, specifications, BOQ and consultant coordination.

Skills I bring

Coordinated project packages

Translate design into aligned plans, interior elevations, schedules and tender information.

Australian application & local checks

Coordinate documentation against the applicable NCC building classification, including fire safety, egress, access and energy requirements. Incorporate consultant advice and locally specified product evidence.

03 / HEALTHCAREVR Clinic ↗

Compact patient circulation, consultation spaces, joinery and services coordination.

Skills I bring

Planning around people

Resolve room relationships and circulation while coordinating ceilings, lighting and services interfaces.

Australian application & local checks

Test accessible paths, door circulation and sanitary layouts against applicable NCC and Premises Standards requirements, including AS 1428.1 as referenced. Confirm building classification and clinical requirements from the actual use and brief.

04 / RESIDENTIALRR Farmhouse ↗

Design studies exploring pitched roofs, deep overhangs and landscape-connected pavilions.

Skills I bring

Roof, shade & threshold

Develop roof forms and sheltered transitions; communicate the relationship between building and landscape.

Australian application & local checks

Develop construction details for local structural, weatherproofing and condensation requirements. Coordinate roof drainage and material interfaces with the relevant consultants and suppliers.

05 / RESIDENTIALVinod Residence ↗

Layered façade studies, tall living spaces and connected interior and garden views.

Skills I bring

Design intent made clear

Use visualisations to test spatial options and coordinate façade, interior and material decisions.

Australian application & local checks

Translate agreed design intent into the studio’s drawing and model conventions. Resolve glazing and fall-protection requirements under the applicable NCC alongside local planning controls.

HOW I WOULD CONTRIBUTE

From design intent to a reviewed package.

Establish the brief and local requirements with the project lead; develop drawings and models using the studio’s Revit and AutoCAD workflows; coordinate consultant inputs; track revisions and resolve review comments before issue.

Requirements depend on the applicable NCC edition, referenced Standards, building classification and state or territory provisions. Project-specific compliance would be established with the Australian project team.
